Patrick Macmanus Developing New True-Crime Series for Peacock

What’s up, streaming fans? The talented Patrick Macmanus, known for his work on Peacock hits like Devil in Disguise: John Wayne Gacy and Dr. Death, is diving into another true-crime story. This time, he’s bringing the Vigilante podcast to life on the NBCUniversal streaming platform.

The series is inspired by the podcast’s gripping tale of Tim Miller, a well-known search-and-rescue hero from Dickinson, Texas. Tim has spent years tracking down missing people, but now he’s on a mission to solve his own daughter’s murder. The story delves deep into a father’s relentless fight for justice for his daughter, touching on themes of loss, justice, and vigilantism.

The Vigilante podcast, hosted by journalist and private investigator Allie Conti, covers the emotional toll of Tim’s pursuit. We’ll see how his obsession has impacted those around him, from past accusations to present-day tensions.

In this new scripted series, Macmanus is teaming up with Ashley Michel Hoban and Ahmadu Garba to bring the story to life on screen. Hoban, who previously worked on Dr. Death, will serve as showrunner, while Garba, known for his work on shows like Halo and Tales of the Walking Dead, will also be on board.

This is just the latest project from Macmanus, who’s set to launch his John Wayne Gacy series on October 16. With a long-standing partnership with UCP, he’s also been behind other successful shows like The Girl from Plainville and is producing Crush for Peacock, a series set in the wild world of tabloid talk shows.

Exciting things are on the horizon for Peacock viewers, so stay tuned for more updates on this new series from Patrick Macmanus and his talented team!
