Bitmovin Introduces Real-Time Video Streaming Observability Solution
Bitmovin has just announced the launch of Bitmovin Observability, a brand new video data solution that provides real-time insights into video playback. This solution is designed to help video providers easily monitor video playback, offer proactive viewer support, and gain valuable visibility into content and advertising playback.
Originally part of Bitmovin Analytics, Bitmovin Observability is now a stand-alone solution tailored specifically for video playback. Unlike general-purpose observability platforms, this solution is laser-focused on optimizing the video streaming experience. It offers in-depth session-level insights, advanced error debugging features with alerts, and specialized monetization telemetry, making it perfect for enterprise streaming services and sports events.
Bitmovin Observability is quick to deploy, user-friendly, and includes AI-powered capabilities tailored to video data. It also features an MCP server that allows LLMs and AI agents to access the necessary data and tools. The built-in advertising observability provides valuable insights that streaming services can use immediately to enhance ad performance and engagement.
One unique feature of this solution is its Playback Score, which ranks services on a scale from 0 to 100 based on factors like start-up time, video smoothness, quality, and overall session success. Video providers can leverage the AI Session Interpreter to receive actionable insights and recommendations for optimizing performance and improving the viewer experience based on this score.
Stefan Lederer, CEO and Co-Founder of Bitmovin, emphasizes the importance of tailored observability solutions for video streaming. He notes, “While general-purpose observability products have a lot of value in enterprise IT, they aren’t designed for video. Bitmovin Observability is different because it’s tailor-made for video streaming, providing the detailed information needed to identify and address issues with playback quality, advertising, or viewership. Real-time observability is crucial for live events streaming, as monitoring video playback on a global scale can be extremely challenging, with service disruptions directly impacting revenue.”
With Bitmovin Observability, video providers can gain valuable insights, optimize performance, and enhance the overall viewing experience for their audiences.
