Netflix Marine Corps Documentary ‘Marines’ Trailer Released

Netflix recently unveiled a sneak peek at a new documentary series focused on the Marine Corps, titled ‘Marines.’ Scheduled to premiere on November 10, the four-part documentary will follow the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, which is based in Okinawa, Japan. This release coincides with the United States Marine Corps’ 250th birthday celebration.

The series was produced by Amblin Documentaries and Lucky 8 TV, with Sebastian Junger, known for his work on ‘Restrepo,’ serving as an executive producer. Chelsea Yarnell, who directed parts of Netflix’s ‘Cheer,’ is directing the series. The documentary promises an inside look at the rigorous training and emotional experiences of young Marines as they navigate life at sea and form deep bonds.

From the trailer, viewers can expect to see intense training exercises both on land and at sea, interspersed with heartfelt interviews featuring Marines from various roles and ranks. One Marine in the trailer proudly acknowledges being a “grunt,” showcasing the camaraderie and pride within the Marine Corps ranks.

The documentary team had unprecedented access to capture footage inside military installations and aboard ships, providing a close-up look at the 31st MEU, a group of over 2,000 troops. This series adds to Netflix’s growing collection of Marine Corps-focused content, following the recent release of ‘Boots,’ a scripted show based on ‘The Pink Marine.’

‘Marines’ promises a captivating journey into the world of the Marine Corps and the lives of these dedicated service members. Make sure to mark your calendars for November 10 to catch this inspiring documentary series on Netflix.
