YouTube TV and Hulu drop Monumental Sports Network: What you need to know

If you’re a fan of the Capitals or Wizards, you might have noticed that YouTube TV and Hulu + Live TV have decided to drop Monumental Sports Network. This means that some upcoming games may not be available for you to watch as they couldn’t come to an agreement by September 30th.

Monumental Sports Network General Manager, Friday Abernethy, expressed disappointment about this decision, especially with the seasons for the Capitals and Wizards about to kick off. But don’t worry! If you still want to catch the games, you have a couple of options.

You can switch to other major TV distributors or subscribe to Monumental+ for $179.99 annually, starting October 1st. And if you prefer to wait, the Capitals and Wizards will also be shown on major cable networks, so keep an eye out for their upcoming games.

The Capitals are all set to take on the Boston Bruins on HBO Max or TNT on October 8, followed by the New York Islanders game on MSN on October 11. You’ll still catch your favorite teams on ESPN, ESPN+, NHL Network, TNT, HBO Max, and ABC. However, if you don’t have access to Monumental Sports Network, you might miss out on 66 exclusive games due to regional blackouts.

As for the Wizards, their new season starts on October 22 against the Milwaukee Bucks on Monumental Sports Network. Their preseason games, starting with Toronto Raptors on October 12 on Monumental Sports Network and NBA TV, will keep fans entertained.

Remember, there are 79 Wizards games scheduled on Monumental Sports Network, except for the game against Detroit on November 10, airing on Peacock and the game against the Milwaukee Bucks on January 29 on Prime Video.
