MCA Releases ‘Landman’ Country Album – New Music Release

MCA has just dropped a brand new country album called Landman – Songs From and Inspired by the Paramount+ Original Series (Volume I) that you can listen to on all platforms. This soundtrack is connected to the hit Paramount+ show Landman, which was created by Taylor Sheridan and Christian Wallace. Packed with tunes from legendary country, rock, and Americana artists, the music in this album sets the scene for the gritty world of the West Texas oilfields.

In a recent chat with The Boxmasters, Billy Bob Thornton, who stars in the series, spilled the beans about this exciting development. He talked about how the idea of creating this album came about, saying, “The Boxmasters are not, but Mark Collie is an old friend of mine, a country singer-songwriter… Collie said, ‘Hey, you and I should write a country song [for the show] and see what happens.’ The next thing you know, I’m talking to MCA about doing a soundtrack album, and before you know it, somehow we started co-writing songs with all these country singers. I have a co-write thing on the soundtrack coming out that we wrote with Ronnie Dunn, and Billy Gibbons, and Parker McCollum, and Dwight Yoakam.”

The album itself captures the essence of the Landman series, combining classic and modern sounds that reflect the ups and downs of life on the Texas oilfields. Each track, from the heartfelt collaboration between George Strait and Chris Stapleton to Billy Gibbons’ rock performance, is carefully chosen to enhance the storytelling and vibe of the show.

Featuring honky-tonk anthems and soulful ballads, the Landman: Season 1 soundtrack perfectly encapsulates the heart and grit of West Texas. With tracks like Belle Frantz’s “Do Ya,” Brent Cobb’s “Snakebite,” and Dwight Yoakam’s “That’s What Lonely People Do,” this album is a must-have for fans of the series and country music enthusiasts alike.
