Arizona Big 12 Home Opener Kickoff Time and TV Info for Oklahoma State Game
Arizona fans who have been hoping for earlier start times may want to rethink their wishes, as the Wildcats’ Big 12 home opener against Oklahoma State on Oct. 4 is set to kick off at 12 p.m. PT. You can catch the game on TNT, truTV, and HBO Max. Daytime kickoffs in Tucson before November aren’t common, mainly due to an agreement between the UA and the Pac-12 to avoid starting games before 5 p.m. local time because of the heat. Interestingly, no such agreement seems to be in place with the Big 12.
Last year, when Arizona hosted Colorado for a 1 p.m. start on Oct. 19, the weather was quite pleasant with a kickoff temperature of 68 degrees. Considering that the normal high for Oct. 4 in Tucson is 90 and the record high was a scorching 106, it’s clear that the earlier start times can make a big difference. This matchup with Oklahoma State will mark the earliest in a season that Arizona Stadium has hosted since 2004, when a game against Wisconsin saw an 88-minute weather delay due to a monsoon.
In addition to the game against Oklahoma State, fans can also mark their calendars for the Territorial Cup at ASU on Nov. 28, which will kick off at 7 p.m. MT and air on Fox. This will be the first night start for the annual rivalry game with the Sun Devils since 2020. The last time Arizona and ASU faced off at night in front of fans was in 2019.
It’s always exciting to see how things play out on the field, and with these upcoming games, Arizona fans definitely have a lot to look forward to.
