Decades of Dedication at University of Houston
A proud Bauer College alumnus and seasoned banking executive, Samuel Schreiber (BBA ’74), has been appointed as the new Chair of the Bauer College Board. After serving on the board for a decade, Schreiber is ready to step into this leadership role and take on the responsibility with dedication and humility.
Expressing his honor and excitement, Schreiber emphasized his commitment to giving his best in this new position. He praised the guidance of Dean Geng and the collaborative spirit of the Bauer Board, highlighting his eagerness to work alongside them.
Schreiber succeeds the esteemed Paul Peacock (BBA ‘81), a retired PwC partner, who, like Schreiber, values his alma mater and aims to support current students through his work on the Board. Reflecting on Peacock’s leadership, Schreiber commended his predecessor’s dedication in furthering Bauer’s mission.
In his new role, Schreiber’s primary focus is to collaborate closely with Dean Geng to enhance student success. He emphasized the importance of an engaged and supportive Board that shares common goals of bolstering the Dean’s vision, expanding Bauer’s presence in the Houston business community, and contributing to the college’s rankings.
Recognizing the impact of his alma mater on his own journey, Schreiber has shown his support through generous donations, including a significant pledge to the Bauer in D.C. Fellowship. Looking ahead, he eagerly anticipates being part of groundbreaking initiatives such as the upcoming centennial in 2027 and the continued growth of the Bauer College of Business.
In a heartfelt message to current students, Schreiber emphasized the value of hard work, dedication, and the willingness to take risks. He reassured them that the future holds endless opportunities for those who remain focused and inquisitive.
As an alumnus deeply grateful for the opportunities afforded by Bauer College, Schreiber is eager to give back to the institution that has shaped his success through his time, energy, and philanthropic efforts. With a spirit of gratitude and a vision for the future, Schreiber is poised to lead the Bauer College Board with passion and purpose.
