Sportsnet to Air Blue Jays-Royals Game on Friday
Toronto Blue Jays fans, mark your calendars! The Blue Jays’ upcoming game on Friday as they make their push for the playoffs will be televised on Sportsnet.
In an exciting collaboration, Sportsnet has partnered with Apple TV to broadcast the game against the Kansas City Royals. This means you can catch all the action on Rogers airwaves, with Sportsnet airing the Blue Jays Central pre-game at 7 p.m. ET / 4 p.m. PT and post-game coverage.
A spokesperson from Rogers shared, “This is a really exciting time of year for Blue Jays fans, and we wanted to try and find a way for Canadians to watch Friday’s game on Sportsnet, especially at this pivotal moment of the season. In working with the Blue Jays, Major League Baseball, and Apple TV, we’re thrilled we found a way.”
The possibility of the Blue Jays clinching a post-season spot during the Friday Apple TV+ broadcast led to discussions between Sportsnet, the team, and MLB to include the streamer in the deal. As a result, Apple TV will also have exclusive broadcast rights to next Friday’s game against the Tampa Bay Rays.
Unfortunately, after the Blue Jays’ loss to the Rays and the Cleveland Guardians’ win over the Detroit Tigers, the earliest Toronto can secure a playoff spot is now on Saturday. The magic number for the Blue Jays to clinch a post-season berth remains at three.
Keep rooting for the Blue Jays as they make their push towards the playoffs!
