Warner Bros. Discovery to Launch HBO Max in 14 Asia Pacific Markets Next Month

Warner Bros. Discovery is getting ready to introduce HBO Max in 14 new Asia Pacific markets next month on October 15th. This announcement comes hot on the heels of their recent expansion in July, which brought the total of countries where HBO Max is available to over 90!

This move is a big one for Warner Bros. Discovery, as they continue to solidify their standing in the competitive world of international streaming. They plan to bring beloved entertainment brands like HBO, Harry Potter, the DC Universe, and Cartoon Network to places like Bangladesh, Brunei, Cambodia, Laos, Macau, Mongolia, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka.

It’s no surprise that their streaming services, including Discovery+, saw an increase of 3.4 million subscribers globally in the second quarter. Looking ahead, the company has some big restructuring plans in the works. They aim to split their assets into two main divisions – one focusing on studios and streaming (Warner Bros), and the other on cable services (Discovery Global) by mid-2026.

Interestingly, news broke last week that Paramount Skydance, in collaboration with Oracle founder Larry Ellison, is gearing up to make a bid for Warner Bros. Discovery. This merger could shake things up in the streaming industry. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting development!
