Beloved HBO Series Returns with Highly Anticipated New Season

2017. Based on Liane Moriarty’s novel, “Big Little Lies” follows a group of seemingly perfect mothers with secrets to uncover.

Fans have been eagerly anticipating news of season 3, and now with Francesca Sloane on board, the project is moving forward. Sloane, known for her work on shows like “Mr. and Mrs. Smith,” “Atlanta,” and “Fargo,” has been chosen to write the first episode and serve as an executive producer alongside David E. Kelley, Reese Witherspoon, and Nicole Kidman.

In an interview last year, HBO president Casey Bloys mentioned that Moriarty needed to finish the next book in the series before production could begin. And in September 2024, Moriarty hinted that the new book would feature a time jump, with the children from the first book now teenagers, making it a perfect fit for the show’s storyline after years off the air.

The original cast, including Witherspoon, Kidman, Shailene Woodley, and others, is expected to reprise their roles in the upcoming season. While a release date for the new novel has not been announced yet, fans can catch up on seasons 1 and 2 of “Big Little Lies” on HBO Max.

Excitement is building as “Big Little Lies” gears up for its highly-anticipated return to the small screen after a long hiatus. Stay tuned for more updates on this beloved HBO series.
