Netflix Chief Product Officer Eunice Kim Departs After 5 Years
Eunice Kim, the chief product officer at Netflix, has decided to step down from her role after five years with the company. She initially joined Netflix back in 2021 to lead the consumer product innovation team. Although the specific reasons for her departure are not clear, a spokesperson for Netflix has confirmed that the new chief product officer will now be reporting to Greg Peters, while Elizabeth Stone will oversee the Product organization on an interim basis.
Greg Peters, Netflix co-CEO, expressed his gratitude for Eunice’s leadership and contributions to the company over the past five years. He highlighted her significant role in launching the new TV experience and commended her hard work and dedication to Netflix. Eunice herself expressed her appreciation for the talented team at Netflix, noting their collective efforts in growing the business from 200 million to over 300 million members during her time there. She mentioned successful initiatives like the ads plan and the expansion of the product experience to include live events, ads, and games.
Prior to her tenure at Netflix, Eunice Kim held product leadership roles at Google Play and YouTube, as well as experience at tech startups, PepsiCo, and Adobe Systems. She was promoted to chief product officer at Netflix in 2023. This news of Eunice Kim’s departure comes as Netflix continues to see changes in its executive suite, with recent shifts in leadership roles. Jinny Howe was recently appointed as the new head of UCAN scripted series following the departure of longtime executive Peter Friedlander.
