Netflix Chief Product Officer Departing After 5 Years
Eunice Kim, Netflix’s chief product officer, is moving on after five years at the company. Her specific reasons for leaving aren’t clear at this time, but Netflix has plans to fill her role. In the meantime, Elizabeth Stone, the chief technology officer, will step in to manage Kim’s responsibilities.
Kim first joined Netflix in 2021 to head the Consumer Product Innovation team. By 2023, she had ascended to the role of chief product officer. Greg Peters, co-CEO of Netflix, expressed his gratitude for Kim’s leadership, noting her efforts in launching new features like the revamped TV experience at Netflix.
Kim shared her appreciation for her time at Netflix as well, stating, “Over the past five years, we grew the business together from 200M to over 300M members by successfully launching and scaling many major growth initiatives, including the ads plan. We also redesigned the product experience, expanding beyond VOD to support a much broader entertainment offering — including live events, ads, and games. I’m proud of what we built, and I’m excited to see what’s next for the company.”
Before her time at Netflix, Kim held leadership positions at Google Play and YouTube for a decade. She also has experience in tech startups, as well as roles at PepsiCo and Adobe Systems. Kim holds a bachelor’s degree from Columbia University and an M.
