Apple TV+ subscription cost raised
Apple TV+ subscription prices in the United States have recently increased to $12.99, up from the original $4.99 monthly price when the service launched in 2019. This marks the second price increase for Apple TV+, with previous bumps in 2022 and 2023.
The new price will affect new subscribers to Apple TV+, while current subscribers will see the increase after 30 days from their last subscription renewal. However, free trial options are still available for those interested in trying out the service.
Apple shared that the reason for the price hike is due to the addition of original films and content to their library, emphasizing the value of their services within the Apple One bundle. Despite the price increase for Apple TV+, the yearly subscription will remain at $99 in the United States. Bundles including Apple One will not be affected by the price change.
It’s worth noting that other streaming services such as Netflix and Disney+ have also raised their subscription prices over the years. So, while the increase in Apple TV+ may come as a surprise, it’s in line with industry trends.
