Apple Music Update: Import Your Playlists from Spotify and Other Streaming Services

Apple Music has some exciting news for music lovers! They’ve launched a new feature that lets you import playlists from other streaming services, making it easier to bring all your favorite tunes into one place. This tool was first tested in Australia and New Zealand, and now it’s available in the United States, United Kingdom, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, and Mexico.

To access this feature, head to the Music settings menu and look for “Transfer Music from Other Music Services.” From there, you can sign in to your other streaming accounts and choose which playlists you want to import. Apple’s Support page has detailed instructions, including an alternative method using your web browser, if you prefer.

Interestingly, this new tool comes at a time when Spotify is seeing an exodus of indie-rock artists. Bands like Hotline TNT have recently left Spotify, citing differences in values and a desire for a “cooler world.” Other notable departures include Godspeed You! Black Emperor, King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard, Xiu Xiu, and Deerhoof. Many artists are leaving Spotify due to concerns over royalty payouts and ethical issues, sparked by CEO Daniel Ek’s venture capital fund’s investments in controversial defense companies like Helsing, known for its AI-driven military technologies.

So, if you’re looking for a way to switch up your streaming experience or support artists making a change, Apple Music’s new playlist import tool could be just what you need. Happy listening!
