Chris Parnell from Apple TV+ Appointed EVP of Originals at Paramount+
Chris Parnell, a creative executive at Apple TV+ and former co-president at Sony Pictures Television Studios, is bringing his talents to Paramount+. In his new role as EVP of Originals, Parnell will be in charge of developing and producing the streamer’s original content slate. He’ll be reporting to Jane Wiseman, the head of originals at Paramount+.
During his time at Apple TV+, Parnell worked on scripted series like “Dark Matter,” “Neuromancer,” “The Last Frontier,” “Bad Monkey,” and the upcoming “Pluribus” by Vince Gilligan. He was also responsible for creating unique content for Apple Vision Pro, including the immersive series “Adventure” and the spatial film “Bono: Stories of Surrender.”
Before joining Apple TV+, Parnell spent 16 years at Sony TV in various roles, including co-head of U.S. drama development and programming, and co-president of Sony Pictures Television Studios. At Sony, he was instrumental in developing popular projects like “For All Mankind,” “Outlander,” “The Boys,” “The Blacklist,” “Better Call Saul,” and many more.
Parnell’s industry experience and track record of successful projects make him a valuable addition to Paramount+ as they continue to expand their original content offerings. Exciting things are on the horizon with Parnell at the helm!
