Paramount+ Welcomes Apple TV+ Executive for Original Content

Streaming service Paramount+ has named Chris Parnell as the new executive vice president of originals. With years of experience at Apple TV+ and Sony Pictures Television, Parnell will be overseeing the development and production of original drama and comedy content for Paramount+.

After working on popular series like Ted Lasso and Succession at Apple TV+, Parnell brings a wealth of experience to his new role. He previously spent nearly two decades at Sony Pictures Television Studios, working on the US drama development slate.

Joining the company as it merges with Skydance, Parnell will report to Jane Wiseman, who was recently appointed as the head of originals by Cindy Holland, Paramount’s direct-to-consumer chief. This move signals Paramount’s commitment to investing in original content and attracting top talent.

Paramount has been making big moves lately, securing deals with creators like the Duffer Brothers from Stranger Things and acquiring rights to UFC fighting. The streaming service is building a strong executive team, with Matt Thunell as president of Paramount TV Studios and Kevin MacLellan leading the international division. Stay tuned for more exciting developments from Paramount+ as they continue to expand their original programming lineup.
