Peacock’s ‘The Paper’ Trailer: A Mockumentary Spotlight on a Newspaper
The folks behind The Office are at it again, this time with a new show called The Paper. A mockumentary series that follows the crew who filmed Dunder Mifflin as they head to Toledo, Ohio, to capture the day-to-day shenanigans at the Truth-Teller newspaper.
The Truth-Teller, a longstanding paper in Toledo, seems to have fallen on hard times. Its owner, who also sells bathroom supplies like toilet paper and seat covers, appears to be neglecting this historic publication. But never fear, Ned Sampson, played by Domhnall Gleeson, is here to save the day.
Ned doesn’t have money to hire reporters, so he enlists help from volunteers within the paper’s staff. And all the while, the documentary crew captures the chaos, much to the chagrin of Oscar Martinez, reprised by Oscar Nuñez.
Created by Greg Daniels, the mastermind behind The American Office, along with Michael Koman, The Paper promises to bring the same comedic genius as its predecessor. The lineup of directors for the first season includes some familiar faces from The Office, like Ken Kwapis, Paul Lieberstein, Jennifer Celotta, Matt Sohn, Dave Rogers, and Jeffrey Blitz. With this dream team at the helm, The Paper is shaping up to be a must-watch series. Check out the trailer to see for yourself!
