Top 3 Underrated Peacock Films for Weekend Viewing
If you’re in need of something awesome to watch this weekend, look no further than Peacock. Even though there are new titles coming to the platform on August 1st, there are still some fresh films to enjoy this week.
One standout movie to check out is “The Phoenician Scheme,” directed by Wes Anderson. This film has all the classic Wes Anderson elements you love: a star-studded cast, quirky humor, and a unique storyline. Benicio del Toro shines as Anatole “Zsa-Zsa” Korda, a ruthless businessman with a tumultuous past. After a close call with death, Korda finds himself facing his sins in the afterlife. When he wakes up, he tries to repair his relationship with his daughter, Liesel, played by Mia Threapleton. The film also features familiar faces like Tom Hanks, Scarlett Johansson, and Bill Murray.
Another great movie to catch on Peacock is “Ray,” starring Jamie Foxx in his Oscar-winning role as Ray Charles. This biopic follows the iconic singer’s journey from his humble beginnings to his struggles with addiction. Kerry Washington delivers a moving performance as Della Bea Robinson, Charles’ wife. The film highlights Charles’ personal demons and the unwavering love of those around him.
For a different take on a classic tale, check out “Robin Hood” starring Russell Crowe. In this 2010 adaptation, Crowe portrays Robin Longstride, a deserter from the Crusades who assumes a fallen knight’s identity to get back to England. Cate Blanchett plays the widow Marian Loxley, who becomes entangled in Robin’s quest to protect her late husband’s lands. Together, they face off against Prince John and prepare for a looming invasion.
