August 2025: New Releases on Netflix
Netflix has a jam-packed lineup for August 2025 with something for everyone. Fans of the fantasy series “Wednesday” can catch the first half of season two starting on August 6, while reality show enthusiasts can look forward to season two of “Love Is Blind: UK” on August 13. If you’re a sports fan, two new docu-series are launching: “SEC Football: Any Given Saturday” on August 5 and “America’s Team: The Gambler and His Cowboys” on August 19, which tells the story of Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys.
For those who enjoy animated comedies, mark your calendars for August 22 when “Long Story Short” from the creator of BoJack Horseman debuts. Additionally, there will be a new documentary executive produced by Spike Lee called “Katrina: Come Hell and High Water” that will showcase first-person accounts and archival footage of the hurricane’s devastation and recovery.
Film buffs can look forward to a big title release in August with “The Thursday Murder Club” on August 28. Directed by Chris Columbus and starring Helen Mirren, Pierce Brosnan, Ben Kingsley, and Celia Imrie, this whodunit is based on the novel by Richard Osman and follows retirees solving cold-case murders. Netflix is also adding popular film franchises like “American Pie,” “Jurassic Park,” “Rush Hour,” and “The Fast and the Furious” throughout the month.
