Bill Belichick and UNC Head to Hulu for Docuseries Following ‘Hard Knocks’ Setback

A brand new docuseries is in the works, taking viewers behind the scenes of legendary coach Bill Belichick’s first season leading the University of North Carolina football team. The show is set to air on Hulu, although an official release date has not been announced yet.

The series is being developed by EverWonder Studio, known for producing major sports events like the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson boxing match and the NFL’s Christmas Day broadcast, both of which aired on Netflix.

This UNC docuseries comes after a change in plans, as an earlier deal with HBO’s Hard Knocks: Offseason fell through. Initially, the HBO series was going to focus on Belichick and the UNC football program, but negotiations broke down in the final stages. Reports suggest that Belichick’s girlfriend, Jordon Hudson, may have played a role in the deal falling apart, with demands for creative control and partial ownership of the project. Belichick, however, clarified that the format of Hard Knocks was not suitable for a college football environment.

As a result, HBO shifted its focus to cover the Buffalo Bills for the upcoming season of Hard Knocks, which is set to premiere on August 5th. Stay tuned for more updates on the UNC docuseries as production continues.
