Actor Earns First Emmy Award Nomination at Age 83

The 2025 Emmy Award nominations have been announced, and there’s some exciting news for fans of Harrison Ford! At 83 years old, Ford, also known as Harry, received his first-ever Emmy nod for outstanding supporting actor in a comedy series for his role in “Shrinking.” In the show, Ford plays Dr. Paul Rhodes, a therapist and colleague of Jimmy Laird, portrayed by Jason Segel. Interestingly, “Shrinking” received four other nominations, including outstanding lead actor in a comedy series for Segel, outstanding supporting actress in a comedy for Jessica Williams, and outstanding comedy series.

Fans were surprised to learn that Ford hadn’t been nominated for “Shrinking” in the past, but it’s great to see his talent recognized now. The show, which debuted in 2023 on Apple TV+, follows the story of grieving therapist Jimmy as he becomes more involved in his patients’ lives. Ford’s character, Dr. Rhodes, has Parkinson’s disease in the show, and Ford shared that the portrayal is meant to reflect the experiences of those who face such challenges with grace and courage.

In addition to Ford, the other nominees in the category include Ike Barinholtz for “The Studio,” Colman Domingo for “The Four Seasons,” Jeff Hille for “Somebody Somewhere,” Ebon Moss-Bachrach for “The Bear,” Michael Urie for “Shrinking,” and Bowen Yang for “Saturday Night Live.” Moss-Bachrach, who portrays Richie in “The Bear,” has taken home the honors in this category for the past two years.

It’s wonderful to see veteran actors like Harrison Ford receiving recognition for their work, and we can’t wait to see how the Emmy Awards unfold this year!
