Duster Canceled, Ending J.J. Abrams and Josh Holloway Lost Reunion
J.J. Abrams and Josh Holloway’s show “Duster” unfortunately didn’t make it past its first season. Despite receiving positive reviews from critics and audiences, HBO Max decided to cancel the series after its initial run. The show, set in the 1970s, was led by Holloway and Rachel Hilson, but ultimately failed to attract enough viewers to continue.
Both Holloway and Abrams had been busy with other projects since their time on “Lost,” with Holloway starring in series like “Intelligence” and “Colony,” and Abrams working on films like “Star Trek Into Darkness” and “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.” “Duster” was their first big collaboration since their days on “Lost,” but unfortunately, it didn’t quite hit the mark with audiences.
Holloway shared that working with Abrams again on “Duster” was an exciting opportunity, comparing the concept to “Pulp Fiction” meets “Starsky & Hutch.” While this may be the end of “Duster,” Holloway expressed gratitude for the chance to work with Abrams and the rest of the talented team behind the series.
Although “Duster” may be over, fans can still enjoy other original series on HBO Max, like “The Pitt.” While we won’t get to see more of Jim and Nina’s story, we can appreciate the effort and creativity that went into bringing “Duster” to life, even if it was only for one season.
