Apple TV+ Adapting “I’m Glad My Mom Died” for TV Drama – World Screen
Apple TV+ has secured the rights to adapt Jennette McCurdy’s memoir “I’m Glad My Mom Died,” with Jennifer Aniston set to star and executive produce. The ten-episode series will be written and showrun by McCurdy and Ari Katcher.
The memoir details McCurdy’s struggles as a former child actor dealing with her controlling mother. The adaptation will focus on the co-dependent relationship between an 18-year-old actress in a popular kids’ show and her self-absorbed mother. Aniston will portray the mother in the series.
The project is a collaboration between Apple Studios, McCurdy, Katcher, Aniston’s Echo Films, Merman, LuckyChap, Jerrod Carmichael, and Erica Kay. McCurdy’s memoir, released in August 2022, spent over 80 weeks on the New York Times bestseller list.
Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting adaptation coming soon to Apple TV+!
