Qualification Spots for Gymnasts at English Championships

Thirteen talented gymnasts from the Okehampton Flyers Gym, Trampoline & DMT Club recently took part in the English Championships qualifiers at the Telford International Centre. All eyes were on three standout performers who secured places in the finals. For those unfamiliar, the English trampoline and double mini trampoline (DMT) series is an exciting competition organized by English Gymnastics and British Gymnastics, providing gymnasts from across England with the opportunity to showcase their skills and potentially earn a spot in the national finale, the English Championships.

This season marked the first national Silver English competition for Elodie Peacock, Coral Vallance, Amelie West, Eliza Luke, Bracken Granger, and Adela Wrzecionko, all of whom represented Okehampton Flyers Gym impeccably. Trampolinists wowed the crowds with their compulsory and voluntary routines featuring ten impressive skills each, while DMT gymnasts impressed the judges with their double skills on the DMT apparatus and landing mat.

The results were outstanding, with Eliza Luke, Connie James, and Mason Parker-Groves storming into the DMT finals in their respective age groups. This continued the club’s success from the first Silver English qualifier held earlier in Birmingham, where Arran Stannard-Heap clinched the gold in the men’s 17+ English Silver Trampoline. Kayla Prouse and Evie Nicks also made their mark with top finishes in classes filled with around 50 gymnasts.

Thanks to their stellar performances at both qualifying events, the Okehampton Flyers Gym group has secured an impressive 11 qualification slots for the upcoming English Championships. This grand national final is scheduled to take place at the Coventry Arena in July, where these talented gymnasts will compete at the highest level. Fans can cheer on Adela Wrzecionko, Arran Stannard-Heap, Connie James, Evie Nicks, Kayla Prouse, Logan Neville, Mason Parker-Groves, Amelie West, Eliza Luke, and more as they chase success in trampoline and DMT categories.
