SILO’s Historic First African Premiere with Apple TV and iStore
Apple TV and iStore recently made history by hosting the first African premiere of Apple TV’s hit drama series, Silo Season 3. The event took place at the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa (MOCAA) in Cape Town, transforming the iconic Silo district into an immersive environment that captured the show’s dystopian vibe.
The premiere was a star-studded affair, with guests from Cape Town’s creative community in attendance, including actors, models, influencers, and content creators. It showcased the city’s growing cultural significance.
Silo is based on the bestselling trilogy by Hugh Howey and follows the story of 10,000 individuals living in an underground society. Season 3, set to debut globally on Apple TV on July 3, delves into an origin story centuries before while continuing the main storyline. The ensemble cast includes familiar faces like Rebecca Ferguson, Common, and Harriet Walter, as well as new additions to the team.
The collaboration between Apple TV and iStore for this premiere marks a significant evolution for the iStore brand, as it moves beyond traditional retail to offer consumers access to a wider range of content and creativity. Chris Dodd, CEO of iStore South Africa, highlighted the importance of this partnership and the commitment to providing unique experiences to customers.
With Silo already renewed for a fourth and final season, this premiere signifies a new chapter in Apple’s presence on the continent. By blending global entertainment with local experiences, this event opens the door to innovative and engaging opportunities in the region.
