Paget Brewster Apologizes for TV Journalist Rant
Paget Brewster, known for her role on “Criminal Minds,” recently apologized for calling out a journalist who criticized the newest iteration of the show, “Criminal Minds: Evolution.” The ScreenRant writer, Shealyn Scott, had pointed out some changes in the new series compared to the original, such as the shorter 10-episode season limit. While some viewers welcomed these changes, others felt they were downgrades.
The original CBS series of “Criminal Minds” wrapped up in 2020 after 15 seasons, only to be revived by Paramount+ in 2022 with Brewster still playing the role of Emily Prentiss. In response to the critical article, Brewster got riled up and posted a now-deleted message to Scott. Despite the article not targeting the actors’ performances, Brewster took offense.
In her post, Brewster urged Scott, whom she mistakenly referred to as “Shealynn,” to consider the impact of negative reviews on the show’s production team. She even suggested Scott try selling vintage items or working at a shelter instead of criticizing TV shows. Brewster’s response, while heated, highlights the importance of considering the human impact behind the media criticism we consume.
