Streaming Ratings for ‘The Boroughs’ and ‘Nemesis’ May 18-24, 2026

The Boroughs, a show executive produced by Matt and Ross Duffer of Stranger Things fame, had a strong debut week with 1.2 billion minutes of viewing in the U.S. from May 18-24 (the show premiered on May 21). It ranked second overall behind Netflix’s Nemesis, which had 1.31 billion viewing minutes.

With a runtime of 6 hours and 15 minutes, The Boroughs garnered an estimated 3.2 million views in the U.S. during its premiere week. This figure represents about 57% of the 5.6 million global views reported by Netflix for the same period, although Netflix and Nielsen use different data collection methods.

Interestingly, both Nemesis and The Boroughs saw significant growth in their viewership numbers. It’s worth noting that the creators of both shows, Courtney A. Kemp (Nemesis) and the Duffer brothers (The Boroughs), have recently made moves to new media companies, with Kemp signing a deal with Apple TV and the Duffer brothers joining Paramount.

Despite the unfortunate timing of the show’s cancellation by Netflix, The Boroughs had a successful start and attracted a significant audience during its premiere week.
