New Prequel Episode for Adults Coming to Hulu Before Season 2

The hit ensemble comedy “Adults” is gearing up for Season 2 in August, but fans will get a special treat with a prequel episode set to debut on July 31st. The episode, titled “Marathon Day,” was a surprise screening at the Tribeca Festival in New York and will introduce the central friend group while delving into Paul Baker’s origin story. It’s created by Ben Kronengold and Rebecca Shaw and directed by Jonathan Krisel, set to premiere on FXX and Hulu at 10 a.m. PT.

“We’re thrilled to show fans how this friend group came together,” shared Kronengold and Shaw. “We love a good origin story, and we can’t wait for you to see where the radioactive spider bit Paul Baker.”

Season 2 of “Adults” will kick off on August 27th with all eight episodes available for streaming on Hulu. The series follows a group of twenty-somethings in New York navigating love, work, friendship, and family. Samir, Billie, Paul Baker, Issa, and Anton are five friends living together in Samir’s childhood home.

In a press release teasing the new episodes, FX stated, “Over eight episodes, the housemates tackle a new set of real-world questions. What if the 20-year-old who inherited your fake ID is cooler than you ever were, and younger than you’ll ever be again? How do you explain to your friends that you actually love your boring office job? Why does being around your family make you regress into your worst self? And how do you ask for things to change when you also need everything to stay the same?” Together, the friends weave intricate webs of multi-player strategy, promising an engaging and entertaining season ahead.
