Spider Noir: Watch Now on Prime Video

The latest series to hit Prime Video is “Spider-Noir,” a standalone universe featuring the voice talents of Nicolas Cage. This series is not a spin-off of the 2018 “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse” film, and it’s not directly connected to any Sony or Marvel movies.

“Spider-Noir” follows the story of Ben Reilly, a seasoned and down-on-his-luck private investigator in 1930s New York who is forced to confront his past following a personal tragedy. He becomes the city’s only superhero, grappling with his demons along the way.

Lamorne Morris, who plays Robbie Robertson, described the character as lazy and a bit of a drunk. He emphasized the human element of superheroes, showcasing their vulnerabilities and internal struggles, which adds depth to the character of The Spider.

Creator Oren Uziel shared how Nicolas Cage came to play Ben Reilly in “Spider-Noir.” Cage’s love for comic books and deep knowledge of Noir made him the perfect fit for the role. The decision to age up the character and focus on a different version of Spider-Man added a unique dynamic to the show.

When it comes to fitting into the larger Spider-Man universe, Jack Huston, who plays Sandman, believes that “Spider-Noir” stands out as the best. Abraham Popoola praised the distinctiveness of the series, highlighting the incredible work done by every department involved in bringing the show to life.

Recreating 1930s New York in Southern California was a challenge that the creators of “Spider-Noir” embraced. Shooting in Los Angeles provided a backdrop of Art Deco architecture and studio backlots that helped bring the setting to life, adding a touch of romanticism to the production.

All eight episodes of “Spider-Noir” are now available for streaming on Prime Video, offering viewers the chance to dive into a unique and compelling world that combines elements of mystery, superhero action, and historical drama.
