Before the release of The Bride!, we had the opportunity to sit down with the big stars of the film, including Penelope Cruz and Peter Sarsgaard, as well as writer/director Maggie Gyllenhaal. When discussing the first time they saw Christian Bale in full costume as the iconic monster, Penelope Cruz was in awe. She mentioned, “I didn’t see anything until we were on set. And, I was like two centimeters from his face [with my jaw dropped]. Bale commented on this aspect of the character, stating, “Well, it seems a natural thing, doesn’t it? Someone who’s intensely lonely… would turn to cinema, right?
