NBC Adds Dave Flemming as Sunday Leadoff Voice
NBC recently announced a new addition to their team of MLB announcers, with the inclusion of Dave Flemming, San Francisco Giants play-by-play announcer. Flemming will be teaming up with Matt Vasgersian to cover MLB Sunday Leadoff games for NBC and Peacock. This Sunday, Flemming’s inaugural assignment will be for the game between the Toronto Blue Jays and the Pittsburgh Pirates.
In addition to his role with the Giants, Flemming has experience working with national networks like Fox and ESPN. His versatile background includes calling a variety of sports such as MLB, college football, and golf majors. As part of the Giants broadcast team, he collaborates with Jon Miller on radio broadcasts and has also appeared on television broadcasts.
NBC’s Sunday Leadoff series, originally launched in 2022, returned to NBC and Peacock this season as part of a new media rights deal. Flemming’s addition complements the work of Matt Vasgersian, who has been covering Sunday Leadoff games at the start of the season. NBC had previously announced plans to add a second voice to the lineup, with Jason Benetti leading Sunday Night Baseball coverage.
With Flemming, Benetti, and Vasgersian on board, NBC boasts a strong lineup of announcers for their baseball coverage in 2026. Despite not having consistent broadcasting partners each week, NBC has utilized various local analysts, including broadcasters and former players associated with the teams playing, to provide diverse perspectives on the games.
Overall, NBC’s MLB coverage is shaping up to be an engaging and well-rounded experience for baseball fans, thanks to the expertise and talent of announcers like Dave Flemming leading the way.
