When Does “The Odyssey” Release On Streaming Platforms? Peacock & Digital Streaming Information

Christopher Nolan’s highly anticipated adaptation of “The Odyssey” has hit theaters, bringing Homer’s epic tale to life on the big screen. Starring Matt Damon as Odysseus, the film follows his journey home from the Trojan War filled with mythical creatures and gods, alongside a star-studded cast including Anne Hathaway, Tom Holland, Robert Pattinson, and Charlize Theron.

The film had a strong start, earning a record $17.6 million in previews and is projected to bring in $90 million to $100 million during its opening weekend. Critics have raved about the film, giving it a 96% score on Rotten Tomatoes.

While “The Odyssey” is currently exclusive to theaters, fans can expect to see it on digital platforms later this summer before it lands on Peacock for streaming this fall. Universal Pictures, the film’s distributor, typically releases movies on Peacock about three to four months after their theatrical debut, so we could see “The Odyssey” streaming by October or November.

In the meantime, if you can’t wait to watch it at home, keep an eye out for the film on premium video on demand (PVOD) platforms like Prime Video, Apple TV, and Fandango at Home. Prices for new releases usually range from $24.99 to $29.99 to purchase, or $19.99 to $24.99 to rent. Typically, films become available for digital release 45 to 65 days after premiering in theaters, so we might see “The Odyssey” available for home viewing as early as late August or as late as mid-September 2026.
