Superman Soars on HBO Max This Week
This summer, it’s all about Superman, and soon you can catch him in action without even needing to leave the comfort of your couch! James Gunn‘s Superman hits HBO Max this Friday, September 19. If you prefer watching on TV, fear not—it will be on HBO Linear the next day, September 20, starting at 8 p.m. ET. To make the viewing experience even better, HBO Max is also offering an American Sign Language adaptation of the film which is exclusive to their platform. There will be extra treats for comic-book movie buffs too, including a Daily Planet “homepage takeover” showcasing not only Superman characters but various other Warner Bros. favorites, as well as a “Fortress of Solitude page and hidden portals that teleport users to Lex Luthor’s pocket prison.” It sounds like Warner Bros. is going all out for the arrival of Superman!
But wait, there’s more! Warner Bros. has big plans for James Gunn’s DC universe, which includes the current season of “Peacemaker” streaming on HBO Max, and upcoming movies such as “Supergirl” in 2026 and “Man of Tomorrow” in 2027. Gunn gave fans a sneak peek into what to expect in “Man of Tomorrow” during an appearance on the Howard Stern Show earlier this month. The movie will reunite the unlikely pair of Lex Luthor and Superman for a thrilling new adventure. The stellar cast includes David Corenswet as Superman, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, among others.
