House of the Dragon Season 3: Episode 1-4 Review
I recently got to watch the first four episodes of House of the Dragon season 3, and I can’t help but feel that this Game of Thrones spin-off should be hitting its stride by now. HBO’s adaptation of George R.R. Martin’s Fire and Blood book is back for round 3, but it’s lacking the fire we’ve come to expect from the franchise.
House of the Dragon season 3’s first four episodes stay true to the Game of Thrones formula, offering drama and intrigue with a few standout moments. While it does a decent job of recovering from the underwhelming finale of the previous season, it falls short in the action department, which could leave it facing the same fate as its predecessor.
The latest season of House of the Dragon picks up where the previous season left off, diving into the aftermath of the Queen Dowager Alicent Hightower and Rhaenyra Targaryen’s deal. Despite some improvements, the show still has areas where it could be better.
House of the Dragon isn’t quite where fans want it to be yet, but it’s getting there. The first four episodes of season 3 set the stage for more intense moments to come, and despite some flaws, the series remains captivating. If you’re a fan of the Game of Thrones universe, this spin-off is worth giving a shot.
