Tyra Banks Files Defamation Lawsuit Against Netflix for ‘America’s Next Top Model’ Docuseries
Tyra Banks is in the spotlight again, but this time it’s because she’s suing Netflix for defamation. She claims that her recent appearance in the America’s Next Top Model docuseries, Reality Check, was seriously misrepresented. According to the lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, Banks participated in a lengthy three-and-a-half-hour interview discussing the show’s legacy and what she might do differently now. However, only 16 minutes of her comments made it into the final docuseries.
Her lawyers argue that these snippets were taken out of context and edited in a way that created a false and harmful narrative, completely unrelated to what Banks had actually expressed. They claim that Banks’ willingness to take responsibility for some of the controversial moments on Top Model was left out of the final cut.
It’s tough to see someone’s words twisted like that, and Tyra Banks is taking a stand against it. We’ll have to wait and see how this legal battle plays out.
