Merritt Wever Wins Third Emmy for Emotional ‘Severance’ Guest Actress Performance

Merritt Wever nabbed the Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series award at the 2025 Creative Arts Emmys for her role in Severance, where she played the character of Gretchen George in season 2. Wever, who was not present at the ceremony, had Jamie Lee Curtis accept the award on her behalf.

Wever’s heartbreaking performance as Dylan George’s wife in Severance on Apple TV+ captivated audiences with its emotional depth. The show follows the story of a Lumon employee whose wife finds happiness in their relationship but ultimately needs to end it to protect his job, leading to a poignant moment on-screen.

Throughout her career, Wever has been nominated for five Emmys and previously won in 2013 for Nurse Jackie and in 2018 for Netflix’s Godless. This year, Wever, along with Jane Alexander and Gwendoline Christie, contributed to Severance receiving a total of 27 nominations across the series.
