Apple TV+ Debuts First Snoopy Musical Special in 37 Years
Today marks the premiere of Snoopy Presents: A Summer Musical on Apple TV+. This special is part of Apple’s exclusive deal with Peanuts and is the latest addition to their collection of original Snoopy specials. What makes this one unique is that it’s a song-filled musical, which is a rare treat since the last Peanuts musical episode aired over 37 years ago.
In this new musical special, we follow Charlie Brown as he strives to make his final year at summer camp unforgettable. Meanwhile, Snoopy and Woodstock stumble upon a treasure map that leads them on an exciting adventure.
The release of this special aligns with Charlie Brown’s 75th anniversary and the music in the musical is top-notch. The Peanuts gang hosts a concert in an effort to save the camp, and with a 40-minute runtime, there are plenty of new songs to enjoy. Some of the original songs featured include “When We Were Light,” “Look Up, Charlie Brown,” “Leave It Better,” “Best Time Ever,” and “A Place Like This.” You can even find a playlist of all the new songs on Apple Music.
Thanks to Apple’s deal with producer WildBrain, Apple TV+ is the exclusive streaming home of all things Peanuts. Subscribers can access an extensive library of Snoopy content, including classic specials, new series, original specials, documentaries, and more.
Additionally, Apple is working on a feature-length Snoopy movie where Snoopy embarks on an adventure in the big city, although no release date has been announced yet.
For fans of Snoopy and the Peanuts gang, Apple TV+ is the place to be for all your favorite content. It’s exciting to see these beloved characters continue to bring joy and entertainment to audiences of all ages.
