Disney+ Cancels Iconic TV Series
horror book series “Goosebumps” is coming to an end. The Disney+ series premiered in October 2023 and will not be returning for a third season, as reported by Variety earlier this month. Sony Pictures Television is looking to take the “Goosebumps” IP in different creative directions and is exploring options with other outlets to continue the series.
The first season of “Goosebumps” featured a cast including Zack Morris, Isa Briones, Miles McKenna, Ana Yi Puig, Will Price, Rachael Harris, and Justin Long. Season 2 introduced a new set of characters, with “Friends” star David Schwimmer and Ana Ortiz joining the cast. References to popular “Goosebumps” books like “The Haunted Mask” and “Night of the Living Dummy” were made in season 1, with “One Day at Horrorland” and “Stay Out of the Basement” being featured in season 2. Unlike the original series from the 90s, the 2023 version was not an anthology format.
While “Goosebumps” may be ending, several other Disney+ shows have been renewed for the 2025-2026 season. Fan favorites like “Star Wars: Ashoka,” “Percy Jackson and the Olympians,” “Daredevil: Born Again,” and “The Proud Family: Louder and Producer” are set to return, along with new seasons of “Limitless With Chris Hemsworth,” “Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures,” and more. Season 2 of “Limitless With Chris Hemsworth” is set to premiere on Friday, August 15, showcasing the actor’s journey to push beyond his comfort zone and live a fuller life.
