Untamed Review: Eric Bana and Lily Santiago Shine in Netflix’s Fast-Paced Thriller

In Netflix’s new show Untamed, Eric Bana’s character Kyle Turner makes a dramatic entrance on horseback at a crime scene in what’s supposed to be Yosemite National Park but is actually British Columbia. The park rangers jokingly refer to him as “Gary F***ing Cooper,” showing the creators’ clear inspiration from classic Westerns.

The show, despite being filmed in Canada and starring an Australian lead actor, aims to capture the essence of Western Americana, similar to the hit series Yellowstone. Co-created by Mark L. Smith and Elle Smith, Untamed follows a murder investigation in a national park setting, with a cast that includes Eric Bana, Lily Santiago, Sam Neill, Wilson Bethel, and Rosemarie DeWitt.
