‘South Park’ Pulled from Paramount+ Internationally

Streamers outside of the U.S. can no longer access South Park on Paramount+. Sources have confirmed that Paramount+’s license to stream the series internationally has expired. Paramount+ is currently negotiating to have the series back up soon for all subscribers. In the meantime, international fans can still stream South Park specials on Paramount+ and watch the show on Comedy Central.

The news of the expired international license follows the announcement that the season 27 premiere of South Park has been delayed by two weeks to July 23 due to a streaming rights dispute. The show’s creators, Trey Parker and Matt Stone, are in a battle with Comedy Central’s parent company, Paramount Global.

A tweet from South Park’s official profile expressed frustration with the situation: “This merger is a mess and it’s messing up South Park. We are working on new episodes and hope fans get to see them somehow.”

Last month, Parker and Stone threatened legal action against Paramount, citing interference from incoming president Jeff Shell in their contract negotiations with Warner Bros. Discovery and Netflix. Shell, who is currently the chairman of sports and media at Redbird Capital Partners, has been at the center of the dispute.
