Top SVOD Services: Amazon Prime Video, Disney+ and Netflix Dominate with 92% of Sports

According to data from Gracenote, popular platforms like Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV+, Disney+, Netflix, and Paramount+ saw a 5% increase in available programming from February to May.

Among these services, Netflix saw the most significant growth, expanding its content by a whopping 18.2% in Q2. Apple TV+ followed with a 3.7% increase, while Amazon Prime Video, Disney+, and Paramount+ also saw growth, albeit at slightly lower rates. As a result, Netflix now offers a staggering 20.1% of the TV shows, movies, and sports programs available on major streaming platforms.

When it comes to sports content specifically, the top SVOD services saw a 7.8% increase in Q2, outpacing the growth of movies and TV shows. Interestingly, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+, and Netflix emerged as the key players in streaming sports, collectively hosting 92% of available sports programming.
