Streaming sports programming is becoming increasingly dominated by big players like Netflix, Disney+, and Prime Video. A recent analysis by Nielsen’s Gracenote shows that these three services now account for a whopping 92% of available sports programming on streaming platforms. In the second quarter of 2025, the overall content offerings of TV, movies, and sports across these platforms, along with Apple TV+ and Paramount+, grew by 5%.

Netflix leads the way with 20.1% of the total TV shows, movies, and sports programs available on major streaming services, showing an increase from the previous quarter. The platform witnessed a significant rise in its share of total available content, particularly in sports programming.

Apple TV+ also saw growth in its total share, with a notable increase in sports programming. Prime Video and Disney+ also experienced upticks in their content offerings, with sports programming on the rise.

These findings shed light on the continued dominance of major streaming services in the sports programming landscape. With the increasing competition and variety of content available, viewers have more choices than ever before when it comes to streaming their favorite sports events.
