Disney+ Removes Popular Marvel Feature

Disney+ recently made some changes to its service that might disappoint Marvel fans. Hits & Heroes was a popular channel that featured a continuous loop of Marvel movies and shows on Disney+. It was part of the Streams feature launched by Disney+ last year to keep up with other “always-on” streaming services. Hits & Heroes, which also included content from Star Wars, allowed users to watch their favorite movies and series whenever they wanted. Unfortunately, as of May, Hits & Heroes is no longer available on Disney+.

In addition to Hits & Heroes, Disney+ also removed another channel called Real Life, which featured a variety of content from National Geographic. While Disney+ hasn’t given an official reason for removing these channels, it’s possible that they were taken down due to underperformance.

While most Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) content is still available for streaming individually on Disney+, the removal of Hits & Heroes might be disappointing for fans who enjoyed the continuous loop format. With so many streaming options available, it can sometimes be overwhelming to choose what to watch. Hits & Heroes provided a convenient way for fans to enjoy their favorite Marvel movies and shows without having to make a specific selection.

Disney+ has seen its fair share of ups and downs since it launched in 2019. The service quickly gained popularity, especially during the pandemic when people were spending more time at home. However, as the world began to reopen, Disney+ experienced a decrease in viewership. In response, the platform made changes like removing features such as Groupwatch and implementing tighter password-sharing restrictions.

As a business, Disney+ is always looking for ways to increase revenue and adapt to consumer demand. Removing Hits & Heroes may have been a strategic decision to focus on other content offerings. While there are currently no plans for a dedicated Marvel Streams channel, Disney+ could always introduce new features in the future.

For now, fans of the MCU can still enjoy their favorite movies and shows on Disney+, even if they can’t watch them in a continuous loop format. While it’s disappointing to see Hits & Heroes go, Disney+ continues to be a popular streaming service with a wide range of content available for subscribers.
