Disney’s heartwarming movie, “Out of My Mind,” shines a light on the story of a sixth grader named Melody Brooks, who has cerebral palsy. Released on Disney+ last year, this touching film has been selected as one of the six recipients of the Television Academy Honors, an award presented by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, which is responsible for the Emmy Awards. This recognition is given to programs that bring awareness to important societal issues.

Starring Phoebe-Rae Taylor, who lives with cerebral palsy, as the resilient Melody, the movie showcases her journey from limited opportunities to thriving in mainstream education with the help of a dedicated teacher.
