Netflix Cancelled Shows in 2024: A Comprehensive List

In 2023, around a third of Netflix shows that premiered that year were renewed for additional seasons, a third are still pending, and a third were canceled. It was a big year for cancellations, with several shows facing the axe. Some of the shows that were announced to be canceled last year include “In From the Cold,” “K-Drama cancellations like A Time Called You and The Sound of Magic,” “Invisible City,” “Shadow and Bone,” “Agent Elvis,” “Captain Fall,” “Farzar,” “Glamorous,” “Wellmania,” “Losers,” “Hard Cell,” “Snowflake Mountain,” “Welcome to Eden,” “Sky High: The Series,” “In Love All Over Again,” and “Lockwood & Co.”

Many shows are set to end in 2024 or 2025, including popular titles like “Stranger Things,” “The Umbrella Academy,” and “Sweet Tooth,” but these are not considered cancellations as they are concluding with planned endings.

K-Drama series like “Business Proposal,” “Café Minamdang,” and “Crash Landing on You” have been confirmed as limited series. These shows were designed or are now considered one-and-done, even if their stories allowed for more in the future.

“Everything Now” faced cancellation despite some development on a new season. Similarly, “Barbarians” and “That Girl Lay Lay” were also canceled, with no plans for future seasons. “The Brothers Sun” was one of the first major casualties of 2024, being canceled due to viewership reasons.

“Ratched,” created by Ryan Murphy, was picked up for two seasons, but the show won’t be returning for a third season. “Erin & Aaron,” a Nickelodeon live-action kids series, was also canceled after two seasons.

The biggest cancellation of 2024 so far has been “Obliterated,” which was announced to be canceled due to relatively disappointing viewership. Additionally, older Netflix shows like “Black Summer,” “Connected,” “Oddballs,” and “Tribes of Europa” have also been quietly canceled behind the scenes.
