Liam Neeson’s ‘The Naked Gun’ Paramount+ Streaming Date Revealed
Fans of the classic comedy series, The Naked Gun, will soon be delighted to know that a reboot starring Liam Neeson and Pamela Anderson is set to hit streaming platforms Paramount+ and MGM+. The movie, directed by Akiva Schaffer and produced by Seth McFarlane, had its theatrical release on Aug. 1 and will be available for digital streaming on Sept. 2.
In this new iteration, Neeson takes on the role of Lt. Frank Drebin Jr., following in the footsteps of the iconic Leslie Nielsen who played Frank Drebin Sr. in the original films. Anderson plays Beth Davenport, a socialite who joins Frank in investigating the mysterious death of her tech-genius brother involving billionaire tech mogul Richard Caine, portrayed by Danny Huston. The star-studded cast also includes Paul Walter Hauser, CCH Pounder, Kevin Durand, Cody Rhodes, Liza Koshy, and Eddie Yu.
The Naked Gun is expected to make its streaming debut on Paramount+ and MGM+ on Tuesday, Sept. 30. While the specific release date is yet to be officially announced by Paramount Pictures, When to Stream predicts it will be available on both platforms on that day.
For those who are not subscribers to Paramount+ or MGM+, there are various subscription tiers available. Paramount+ offers an ad-based Essential tier for $7.99 per month and an ad-free Premium tier for $12.99 per month. On the other hand, MGM+ is an ad-free service costing $6.99 per month, or $4.92 per month with an annual subscription.
In an interview, Liam Neeson shared that he was initially apprehensive about taking on a full-blown comedy role in The Naked Gun. However, working with Seth McFarlane, whom he collaborated with on A Million Ways to Die in the West, eased his concerns. Despite his reservations, Neeson was confident in McFarlane’s sense of humor and the quality of the script.
