Disney Partners with Atresmedia in Spanish Deal for SEO Success
Disney and Atresmedia have teamed up to bring more Spanish language content to Disney+ in Spain. This exciting deal means that subscribers will have access to over 300 hours of Atresmedia content every year as part of their subscription.
This partnership is part of a trend of Disney working with national broadcasters in Europe, with similar agreements in Germany and the UK. What’s unique about this deal is that Atresmedia is making some of its SVOD original series available on Disney+ on the same day they premiere on their own service.
Shows like The Voice will be available on Disney+ the day after they air on Atresmedia’s linear channel, and some popular novelas will be available either the next day or within a month of airing. This collaboration is a big step for Atresmedia in solidifying atresplayer as the top Spanish platform for streaming, showcasing the best Spanish productions to a wider audience.
Karl Holmes, general manager for Disney+ in EMEA, is thrilled about the deal, praising Atresmedia’s top-notch Spanish content. This move not only benefits Disney+ subscribers in Spain but also underscores Disney’s commitment to supporting local broadcasters across Europe.
Javier Bardají, CEO of Atresmedia, sees this agreement as groundbreaking, strengthening Atresmedia’s position as a leader in Spanish content. This partnership allows them to showcase Spanish talent and culture on a global scale, expanding the reach of their productions.
Starting in September, Disney+ will feature Atresmedia originals like Mar afuera, along with popular shows like La Voz and Tu cara me suena. Classic series such as Vis a Vis, Física o Química, and Aquí no hay quien viva will also be available, providing a diverse array of Spanish content for Disney+ subscribers to enjoy.
