Seth Rogen, Rose Byrne Reunion with Zac Efron in “Neighbors” for Platonic Relationship

Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne are gearing up for a new season of their comedy show, Platonic, on Apple TV+. In this series, they play best friends navigating the ups and downs of mid-life together. Originally, the show was supposed to switch out the main stars each season as part of an anthology concept. However, after the success of the first season, Rogen and Byrne were keen to stick around. Rogen mentioned at the Los Angeles premiere, “As we were shooting the first season I was kind of pushing for [creators Nicholas Stoller and Francesca Delbanco] to brainstorm how it could continue and how to not replace us with other people, and thank god they listened.”

The show brings Rogen and Byrne together again after their roles as a married couple in the Neighbors films. The duo seemed hopeful that their former co-star Zac Efron could make an appearance on Platonic, with Byrne expressing, “I don’t understand why that hasn’t come to fruition yet. Now I have it in my head that’s what we need to do.” Rogen added to the excitement by suggesting, “We need to get Ike [Barinholtz, who also co-starred in the film] and Zac in Platonic. That’d be great,” and Delbanco mentioned, “It would be amazing stunt casting if they all reunited on the show.”
