Wrexham Scores 5th Season with Eva Longoria Joining the Team

Disney+ announced today that “Welcome to Wrexham,” the Emmy®-winning docuseries, will be returning for a fifth season to capture the Club’s entry into the EFL Championship after their historic third consecutive promotion. The show is currently airing its fourth season, with new episodes available every Friday on Disney+ in Australia.

Additionally, FX and Disney+ Latin America shared details about a new docuseries called “Necaxa,” produced by Eva Longoria in partnership with Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds, who are all investors in Mexican-based Club Necaxa. The series will premiere this winter and aims to support the dreams and aspirations of the Necaxa fans and Aguascalientes community.

“Necaxa” will follow the journey of Club Necaxa, one of Mexico’s oldest football clubs, as they navigate challenges, staff changes, injuries, and strive to deliver hope to their city. The series will provide a behind-the-scenes look at the team, players, and fans as they chase their dreams and look to revive the club’s legacy.

The new series is executive produced by Eva Longoria, along with other prominent industry figures. It promises to showcase the resilience and hope of the people involved with Club Necaxa, as they work towards a common goal.

In the current season of “Welcome to Wrexham,” Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds are featured as they manage the Red Dragons, the 3rd oldest professional football club in the world. The docuseries follows their journey of turning the underdog team into a global success story, with a focus on their recent promotions and rise in the English Football League.

The show also highlights the Wrexham AFC Women’s Team as they compete in the Welsh Adran Premier League, aiming to make a mark in women’s football. With new players and continued support, the women’s team strives to stand out among tough competition and make a name for themselves at the top of the league.
