Womack, on the other hand, played a crucial role as a lineman, excelling in pass protection and run blocking. Wolfe highlighted Womack’s talent in protecting the blind side of the quarterback and his effectiveness in creating running lanes for the team.
In addition to DeSoto Central, players from other schools in DeSoto County also committed to college programs. Emery Shannon from Olive Branch signed with Coahoma Community College, while Michael Pride signed with Northwest Mississippi Community College. Six players from Lake Cormorant showcased their talent on National Signing Day, celebrating their bright futures.
Over in Southaven, Nathaniel Johnson Jr. signed with East Central College, while the Memphis Hustle secured a decisive victory over the Iowa Wolves in the NBA G League. The Hustle continued their strong performance by scoring over 140 points for the second consecutive game and clinching a two-game sweep of the Wolves.
Memphis forward Miles Norris led the Hustle with 26 points, supported by stellar performances from other players like D.J. Steward and David Johnson. Despite a strong showing by Iowa with notable scorers like Trevor Keels and Nojel Eastern, the Hustle maintained their dominance throughout the game, securing a comfortable victory.
As the Hustle gear up to face the Maine Celtics in their upcoming game, Center Hill football coach Alan Peacock announced his resignation after 14 seasons with the Mustangs. Peacock, known for implementing the Flexbone offense with his team, expressed his gratitude to Center Hill for the years of coaching.
While some players move on to the next level, and coaches transition to new opportunities, DeSoto County sports continue to thrive and inspire with their remarkable talent and dedication.
